Dear Friends,
This past weekend your pastor shared Bishop Hicks’ homily based on the Gospel of Luke, themed “Open Your Heart to God’s Goodness.”
Bishop speaks in the above video on where the goodness in our hearts comes from and he shares a story of his parents that you will find interesting.
In Bishop’s own words, when you give to the Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal, you help minister to the poor, the hungry, the homeless and the needy, the vulnerable, the unborn, to seniors, adults, adolescents, children, the marginalized, the disabled and so many more. Your donation supports the very heart of the mission of the church, here in the Diocese of Joliet.
If you have yet to donate this year, we ask for your support as we embark together on a journey serving and loving God.
If you have pledged your gift to the CMAA, thank you sincerely for your generosity!
With Sincere Gratitude,
Jane Lagger
Chief Development Officer
Diocese of Joliet
The 2025 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal has begun!
If you have already pledged your support to the Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA), we sincerely thank you! Let’s join together to meet our parish’s goal of $61,000. Each and every gift, regardless of size, truly makes a difference.
If you still plan on making your gift, please prayerfully reflect on how best you can Open your heart to God’s goodness in support of those in need throughout our diocese. Pledge envelopes are still available in the church, or you can use the envelope you received in the mail from the diocese. We also welcome online gifts at jolietdioceseappeal.org
Remember, if we raise more than our goal, the diocese will return 70% of the amount over our goal to us to reinvest in our own parish. This is an incredible opportunity and blessing!

Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal
The Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA) is our annual fundraising campaign that supports the ministries, agencies, programs and schools that serve the spiritual, physical and educational needs of the people of the Diocese of Joliet.
Our donors help ensure the works of the Lord can continue to be made possible throughout our diocese. It’s through gifts to the CMAA that our diocesan-wide ministries help feed and shelter the homeless, educate seminarians, teach our faith to children and adults through catholic schools and religious education programs, and more.
Every gift—large and small—is appreciated and will help us to meet our goal. We encourage you to watch our testimonials and witness how your gifts will bless our ministries. Thank you to the many people who have demonstrated to those in need that we all belong to God through their gifts to the 2024 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA).
Dear Parishioners,
As Catholics, we celebrate the importance of both practicing our faith and living our faith, each day in ways like Jesus did. The Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal (CMAA) is rich in opportunities for us to follow Christ’s example by serving others. This brings me to the theme of our 2025 Appeal, Open your heart to God’s goodness. When we open our hearts to God’s goodness, we open the doors of our Church in service to those in need. Once open, there is no limit to the good we can do!
When you give to the CMAA, you help educate and prepare our seminarians on their journey to becoming our future priests. You bring our young adult Catholics together for faith-building fellowship. You offer programs to our Catholic youth that strengthen their relationship with Jesus, encouraging them to spread His good news. Through your charitable gift, you provide hope and safe housing for the homeless, and much, much more!
Today, I humbly ask you to open your hearts to God’s goodness by donating as generously as you can to this year’s CMAA. The enclosed brochure features powerful stories that bear witness to the good work you and your fellow parishioners are doing across our Diocese. It is truly inspiring!
I encourage you to take a moment to read these stories and view the videos that accompany them to discover the tremendous difference your gift makes.
Thank you for prayerfully considering my request. My hope is that you’ll be inspired to make a pledge today. There is no greater way to honor God’s goodness than to open our hearts in service
to others.
With best wishes, I ask God to bless you always.
As I remain—
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Ronald A. Hicks
Bishop of Joliet
