Annual Healing Mass
at St. Bernard’s
Saturday, October 5, 4:00 pm
A special Healing Mass with the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s on Saturday, October 5 at 4:00 pm. Fr. Joe McCormick, OSA, Pastor, will preside assisted by several other Augustinians, including Bishop Dan Turley, OSA and several Augustinian professed seminarians. Fr. Jim Halstead, OSA, who was recently diagnosed with ALS, will offer the homily of the Mass. The parish’s lay Ministers of Communion to the Sick will also be assisting the priests. This special Mass is modified to accommodate the extra time needed for the anointings.
All those who are ill or planning surgery or living with any chronic health condition are encouraged to attend this Mass to receive this Sacrament of Anointing. Any who suffer weaknesses due to advanced age are also welcome to share in the power of this sacrament. We encourage active and able-bodied parishioners to invite and accompany family members, friends or neighbors who may need assistance in joining us for this inspiring liturgy.
